Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The true event! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 nor any food save the filth 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
