The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
