The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
