The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
