The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
