The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
