The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
