The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
