The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
