The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
