The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
