The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 you pay attention 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
