He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and in awe [of God] 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 On honoured leaves 13 exalted and purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
