And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
