He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And hath fear, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 In honored books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out, as during the night of Holy Prophet's ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider his food. 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 And We made corn grow, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Almighty God's Truth.
