He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fearfully, 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and palms 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
