The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
