The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
