The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
