The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
