The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 The closing night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
