The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
