The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
