Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
