Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
