Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
