Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
