Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 watching over you 11 They know all that you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
