Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble scribes 11 who know all that you do: 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
