Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble scribes, 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
