Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Generous and recording, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
