Shattering (Al-Infitaar)

19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble, writers 11 who know what you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
