Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 to burn therein. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 [It will be] a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
