The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 a written record, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
