The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
