The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 unto a mighty day 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine, 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
