It is He Who has endowed you with the faculties of hearing and sight and has given you hearts (to think). Scarcely do you give thanks. 78 It is God who has settled you on the earth and before Him you will all be assembled. 79 And He it is Who quickeneth and causeth to die, and His is the alternation of night and day; will ye not then reflect? 80 No, but they said what the ancients said before them: 81 They say: "When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be raised to life again? 82 We and our fathers have been promised this before. It is but of the ancients' fictitious tales' 83 Ask them: "Whose is the earth and those who are in it? Tell us if you know" 84 They will surely say: God's. Say thou: will ye not then heed? 85 Say: 'Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty Throne?' 86 They will surely say: God. Say thou: will ye not then fear? 87 Say: "In whose hand rests the mighty dominion over all things, and who is it that protects, the while there is no protection against Him? [Tell me this] if you happen to know [the answer]!" 88 They will surely say: "(The dominion over all things) belongs to Allah." Say: "Whence are you then deluded?" 89 Aye! We have brought them the truth and verily they are the liars. 90 Never did God take unto Himself any offspring, nor has there ever been any deity side by side with Him: [for, had there been any,] lo! each deity would surely have stood apart [from the others] in whatever it had created, and they would surely have [tried to] overcome one another! Limitless in His glory is God, [far] above anything that men may devise by way of definition, 91 The All Knowing, of every hidden and the visible – so Supremacy is to Him over their ascribing of partners (to Him). 92
