The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
