The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
