The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
