The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
