The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
