The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
