The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
