The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
