The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 when they were seated over it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
