The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
