AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- 43 And take in thine hand a handful of twigs, and strike therewith, and break not thine oath. Verily We! We found him patient. How excellent a bondman! Verily he was oft-returning. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 They will suffer in hell. What a terrible dwelling! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And other similar torments. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Indeed this is really true – the people of the hell quarrelling among themselves. 64
