The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
