The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
